Tracing Footsteps in Galway
During the summer of 2025, Lynne, Sean, and David set off on a journey that was part road trip, part family quest. Their destination: County Galway, Ireland. Their goal: to uncover the story of a grandfather long lost to time. With little more than a few names and a handful of family anecdotes, they arrived in the Corrafaireen area, hoping the quiet hills and parish records might hold the missing pieces of their family puzzle.
What they found was more than they’d hoped for—records that confirmed not only their grandfather’s presence in the region, but also the lives of his wife and daughter. The search brought clarity, connection, and a deeper sense of belonging to a land that had always been part of their story—even if from a distance.
The rest of their time in Galway was spent exploring its vibrant streets, coastal views, and quiet countryside. As the pictures will show, their journey became more than just a search for the past—it was a celebration of heritage, discovery, and the simple joy of being in a place that now feels like home.
